Dear Guthrie Parents/Guardians,
For the link to the October 5th Parent Council Zoom meeting, please contact Ms. Hornik.
We are holding elections
for Council positions on October 5, 2020 The format of this meeting has not
been determined yet but will be either Zoom or Google Meet.
If you are interested in holding a Guthrie Parent Council position,
please send Mel Hornik (firstname.lastname@example.org) an email with your intent by Tuesday, September 22.
Positions are open to any Guthrie parent.
The positions are:
Council Chair’s role largely ensures that proper Council meeting protocol is
at all meetings. They coordinate members and the meeting agenda with the
or Vice Principal.
Council Co-Chair is to provide assistance and support to the Chair and fulfill
their duties when absent.
Council Treasurer provides and maintains accurate accounting of all Council
and provides updates on those reports at council meetings and at year's
Council Secretary records all items of discussion, follow-up and accurately
all motions and voting results at Council meetings. Minutes from these
are recorded and distributed to all members
Although Parent Council won't be doing any fundraising in the near future, it still provides a
valuable service to the school by providing feedback and deciding where to
allocate school generated funds. Voting members are an important part
of this process, so please contact email@example.com if you would like to be a
voting member (but not in a titled position) of this year's Council .
